Downloading it now.

Supposedly its a lot faster than the original software for those that adopted the diamond upon release

All the info you should need will be on HERE

Will add more when Ive got the update on.

Personally i used activesync to backup all of my contacts and calendar, as unless you have them saved to your sim card they will be lost. As for the rest I just lost it all and reinstalled everything, but it only took an hour anyways. Anything on the storage card isnt lost, but any programs you have unstalled on *** storage card will remain there but wont work after the update, so will need manually removing.

The performace increase over my old verion (1.34) is mental, its really much much faster now, and a lot more responsive to everything. My wireless signal strength seems to have improved too as it used to say low signal and constantly drop out, now its at 75% strength.

I really cant stress how much faster it is than the old ROM that came with the phone. However, reports are saying its still slower than a lot of the cooked ROMs that are out there, so if ayone if running an update such as Duttys I wouldnt bother with this update, unless you want your warranty back :p

No, anything that was on the old software will remain, theres been no change to anything at all really (so still no Orange branding!), MSN appears to have been updated to a newer version, but other than that, MS Office and all the other goddies are still there, they just reinstall automatically upon update.

Ok got it installed and it seems a bit quicker! :)

Not too sure if I like the fact it skips the animations a wee bit now but I'll get used to it! I only hope Orange keep supporting the phone since we dont get to register for official updates :(

I will say one thing during texting etc it is not a much better phone to use! All in all the update went smoothly enough for me so im happy! Tho I need to do some MP3 trimming again for ringtones! lol
