Metallica - Death Magnetic

I just listened to the first track of Death Magnetic through my headphones and had to stop, the guitar just starts to sound like a fart after a while, the distortion is terrible :(

Was trying to convince myself it was ok, but it's not, in an ideal world they'd see everyone's complaints and release a better version, sadly that will never happen.
 
I love the album too, I just noticed that bit a lot when I've not noticed anything at all on Death Magnetic.

As I said earlier thou WHO CARES!!! they are both brilliant albums.
 
All this moaning about sound quality is driving me nuts, its a brilliant effort and for me i cant hear any distortion, im with dmpoole on this one.

Besides, im sure its going to sound perfect when i see them live tomorrow. I'll let you know about the sound quality.

Agreed

Overall I'm reasonably impressed with this album, I'd give it a 7.5/10. Its a good return to a classic 90's thrash sound but I felt there were very few instant classic great songs on the album. The songs are good but there's something kinda missing to make them absolute classic tunes like Seek And Destroy, Master of Puppets, Creeping Death etc

Lars drumming ruined any chance I had of liking this album. What a tool he is.
 
I really liked it the first few listens but ive cooled to it now, it doesnt leap out at me like Ride or Puppets does when i play them. I think i was just happy that it doesnt sound out of place next to the first four albums but i feel the hunger isnt there in the music any more.
Ill always love Metallica but stuff like Strapping Young Lad and Decapitated blow them out the water. Still the best live band evar though!!1:D

I think he is amazing on this album and I haven't been to University.
He's as tight as a ducks arse.
I'd love to play with someone as tight as him.

Perhaps you can give me some tracks/times where you think he's awful.

what has lars become?! he needs to stop hitting trash cans with wooden mallets!!!!! lol not really liking the new songs which is diappointing as i used to like them before st.anger and was hoping this would bring it back but it hasnt :( also the album name? lol lets pick 2 random words :p

Why do you keep saying things like this? Or pointing out what kind of gear you have. It's like you are trying to justify yourself to others who don't care.

I'm not trying to insult you but you are coming off as very arrogant in this thread.

As for his drumming. I'm getting bored of him constantly hitting that symbol.
