Hi again,

As you maybe aware, got a new TV coming :) and just wondering about leads, spoken to the VC guy here and he says if you got HDMI out on the V+ box, use that, beats everything.

Fair enough, but as im in work, my parents would not know a HDMI port if it came up and cooked them a 5 course meal, so no point asking them.
If you have a V+ box near you, do us a favour, look on the back and see if it has a HDMI output please.

Do Virgin do any HD channels yet?

I don't any more, but I did have a V+ box and it didn't have an HDMI port.

Virgin only have BBC HD as far as I remember right now. They do however have some HD content On Demand.

I connected mine using component cables.

I have a V+ box and it has HDMI.

The menus look terrible in anything but HD.

All I watch is HD on demand content.. Only BBC HD as a channel at the moment.

the menu's looks atrocious in 1080p on the v+ boxes. they screwed something up somewhere along the line. 720p is honestly the best output from the box. the guy who installed the thing said the same to me as well lol.

That could possible depend on your TV. 1080i works best for me. Also granted, the menu via HDMI is poor but the improved picture quality compared to scart makes up for it.

Of Coarse it has HDMI and also Component, that's the only way your going to get a HD Output.

my V+ has HDMI (which i use) and Component and optical out
also my V+ box came with a HDMI lead

and the V+ box upscales all output :) there isnt much difference between BBC1 and BBC HD @ 720p
