The massive bias toward Destruction does worry me in a game so focussed on RvR - and it makes me wonder if it'll be something of a self-perpetuating problem....

I mean, everyone wants to be on the winning side, right? Why join Order, and constantly be losing, when its easier just to join Desto and be on the "winning" side? I can see people switching to Destro because of this...

Alliance outnumber Horde on most WoW servers but in my experience Horde tend to win more in PvP (Warsong Gulch not included). Just because the have more players does not make them better players.

Managed to get to 11 on my magus, quite enjoyable so far (bit of a glass cannon class) i hope to see some improvements but it looks like its picking up more now that i have talent tree's, armour, shields etc.

Scenarios are not a problem, the main problem will come when people reach tier 4 rvr - the main shift in control has to come from rvr - how else does the map shift from praag to reikland/reikwald and further towards altdorf, not just by winning scenarios i can tell you that much :/

Certainly a smaller number of organised players can make an impact on larger groups - but this effect will has a finite number, theres not really a lot a 6 man group can do against a 50 man zerg battering the keep door in. Been there done that in beta and humoured the flawed population balance.

it really could turn out to be a major problem for this game , my initial thoughts were maybe the balance would be a little closer in retail, but looking at the number of people queing to play destruction makes me think its actually going to be worse than in beta.

Anyone else a little concerned for MDPS in RvR? I mean Wizards and Sorcerers just seem far better suited to the larger battles than something like a Witch Elf.

I reckon shaman will do well due to not having to move too - at least in open beta i found it a lot easier to plays shaman in pvp compared to dok - due to not having to move.

im gonna be honest, i dont like this game. got a lvl 11 bright wizard and lvl 9 witch hunter, messed around with destruction aswell. the whole game just dont feel right, it didnt move me at all like WoW did, its just the same carp repackaged with nothing pioneering.

You mean like WoW was?

Simple thing is if you want to play WoW then go play WoW. The game is vastly different IMHO. It's only been out a couple of days as well so you have to at least give them some time to change things (patch this morning btw).

I'm enjoying it anyway - I'd suggest if you're not then it's not for you.

I agree entirely with M4cc45 above, nothing wrong with not liking a game. I have come over time to really not like WoW at all. Not a problem, everyone has different tastes and likes, its not mandatory to like the newest game.

WoW wasnt exactly "pioneering" itself, and was mainly repackaged stuff too. Its what Blizzard does best, take the good features from other games and meld them together in a single package.

No problems if you dont like WAR, just stick it up on the shelf (or better still , sell the account, there are loads and loads of people who are still after copies of WAR, theres not going to be anywhere near enough copies out for the demand), so just stick it away and carry on with whichever game does move you.

One thing about this game that is really bugging me are those user agreements when you login come up every time you load the game. I hope they fix that ASAP because its bugging me that I have to scroll down before I can click 'I agree'. :/

This is more to do with the open RvR scenario mentality I think - ie. nobody communicates, so no charges or flanking maneuvers are organised, and you tend to get a big bloody standoff where the ranged classes can pick people off.

I'd wait until you've got a good group with voice comms to see how things turn out. I've been playing a shadow warrior, and I certainly can't survive if an equal level witch elf rushes me.

I can survive playing a Chosen but when there's a lot of ranged I have no hope in that case I retreat and then lead them to the rest of the guys. Anyone know the command to chat there - other than /say I can't seem to get anything else to work (tried /p).

The Elf Tier 1 Scenario is amusing. Took me a couple of times to work out that running away would be a good idea when Khaine's wrath is called even if it is my side that is doing the calling...

Assassins of Fate have got vent setup, so we've been using that a tad. Although me not so much as I'm only level 7 atm, don't want to RVR until I've got more abilities!
