I'm hoping Sony now finally do something with the price of the Playstation now. Most likely they will stick a 1TB hard drive in it and charge £350.
Great news, I need a bigger Hard drive with the installs coming the premium is a great price at £169 but I still dont think it will be big enough to keep 5 or 6 of my fav games on DLC.
Eagerly awaiting the price of sites on the elite, especially the ones that already sell it for £239. Surely with an Elite dropping that low there is no way that Sony can go to xmas selling up near the £300 mark.

It really is far, far too expensive compared to the competition. Which is annoying as I would buy one, if it was under £200.

PS3 needs a big price cut. I just cannot see it competing at xmas, what with all this talk of family with short of money, 360 and Wii are probably just about justifiable purchase with price tag but the PS3 is £100+ more expensive.

Year and a bit maybe? Not fussed. Can wait to enjoy paying a fraction of what everyone else payed for their console and games. Havn't bought a console over £100 ever.

I'm not even sure is Sony can afford to cut the prices of the PS3. Microsoft are really trying to crush the PS3 here. It's sickening when I think how much I spent on my 360. Good thing is if my 360 ever packs up I'll be able to get a new Jasper really cheap.

Hopefully it will make the PS3 price drop as it can only be a good thing that the 360 is as cheap as it is. I still hear people talk about the PS3 as being "worth it" in stores, at work, pub etc as they only see the 360 as games mchine, but the PS3 as a BD player, games machine, etc, even though (apart from the BD) the do pretty much the same media wise. As far as i know the US price drop models are the older falcon chipset, much like the UK ones will be for a months or so while they clear old stock, so I would hold off if you want to replace yours with a Jasper unit.
As for affording the price drop who knows Sony games div made a profit last quarter, Microsoft entertainment made a loss in the last quarter (profit for year though), so it would seem Sony could make a cut if they needed to. They have already gone to 65Nm on both GPU/CPU and 45Nm cells are now in production so another manufacturing cost reduction will be forth coming. Be interesting what Nintendo do with the Wii price, cant see the 360 eating into the sales of the Wii enough to worry Nintendo, but its been at the same price since launch so perhaps if the PS3 drops to say £250 close to Christmas then im sure with both the 360 and PS3 at this cheaper price it may put pressure on Ninty to drop prices.
