Positives in this...?

Tell me about it. She won't be there very often (she works in London). I explained that perhaps it wouldn't be appropriate on the accommodation form and said she would be visiting regularly, but I guess if there really wasn't anywhere else there was nothing they could do.

What do you know about other people that have ended up there? Have most people got in through clearing?

Not sure. I had to go through clearing because I didn't get my results from Bangor in time to apply through UCAS normally (if thats the way to say it)

I count four people inc myself (Frollkiller) in these two threads who are in the same situation...

Might want to sign up put your name into the hat. :)

I did the online application for the accommodation on 29th August (I think I got the letter telling me what to do the day before) and got the email telling me what accommodation I got on 12th.

From reading through those I take it this is your second degree then?

I was at Bangor doing Chemistry but I broke my knee and had to spend 8 weeks at home so that pretty much messed up the whole year really. I was offered to re do the year there after I got my results but I decided I want to do a different course at a different uni.

Couple of other places offered me places on different courses but decided to go for Aber in the end.

i lived in uni apartments. well it might be the same thing u talking about . i had my room and my room m8 had his room and we shared a siting room/kitchen?

i did no know new my room m8 till the next day i woke up and seen him in a sting room / kitchen .

lived there for a week. heating did not work walls not even plastered , shouting room m8s inviting bum friends was not for me.

edit: did they referred u i na letter as azza its your real name ?

By the sounds of it no ones happy. Although I can't see a reason why someone would be, so I guess that's not suprising.

Just have to try and make the best of a bad situation. Just hoping it won't suck too much.

I just hope there are some ladies in there...

do to the washing up obviously. :D

Bitten the bullet and paid the acceptance fee.

Slightly mixed feelings about it now. I know I've got a roof over my head this weekend but it's far from ideal.

Christ I've got to tell my gf the news at some point...

LOL. :D

You going on Sat or Sunday?

Would be good if they actually told us what room number we would be in before we get there aswell I think.

I wonder if you have to pick the number out of a hat when you get there...

Saturday, and as I won't be able to park my car anywhere my dad'll be driving me.

I don't know of anywhere that tells you the specific room you're in til you get there. I did get told on the phone earlier that they do try and pair people up (so to speak) so in theory a 25y/o hardcore punk shouldn't get put with an 18y/o chav, but you never know.

At Bangor they tell you what room you are in. :)

Parking / traffic is going to be hell down there at the weekend I think, especially where we are.

Oh right. I'm only going by what mates, my gf and my sister had to do when they went straight from sixth form. That was all at least 6 years ago. That's a depressing thought in its self.

I was going to drive myself, but that's not going to work if i can't park my car, so my dad's driving me over. I'm thinking I'll get him to park somewhere easy then I'll walk in and figure what's going on and see if there's anywhere near to park the car to unload.
