Job Interviews - Greatest Hero?

I was going to mention that there are reasons Ali isn't a hero, but that isn't one of them. He had not the best life and fell in with the wrong people and he essentially hated white people and was Islamic, but that has nothing to do with the war. He joined the nation of Islam before the war, way before, and he simply refused to go to Vietnam as he didn't want to kill people for a government that treats him like a slave aswell as thinking killing people on the other side of the planet for no reason was wrong. Firstly jail isn't great, and being stripped of his title and unable to essentially work in his chosen career while he was at the top of his game hurt him very badly financially aswell. When he came out he had to fight back and one of the reasons he basically took fights long beyond when he should have stopped, and is possibly/probably one of the reasons he has issues later in life, is he needed the money.


The reason you might think he's not a hero is he was basically a racist for a long time, though he was taught to be and manipulated and he got past that and became a great man which not many people do. Most people, once a racist, always a racist.

He was a pretty good boxer too.

That probably would'nt get you the job, but it'd be fun to do!

being good at a sport doesn't make you a hero, giving up your right to fight by refusing to partake in an illegal war and giving up the best years of your career and going to jail, thats the kind of thing that makes you a hero. Remember Tyson was a fantastic, truly fantastic boxer, but a hero.............. not quite.
 
Was discussing this with the missus the other night. Two that instantly came to mind were David Attenborough and Humphrey Littleton (RIP).

I generally hold great scientific minds in very high regard, Newton and so forth, but could you label them heroes?
 
I got asked today......what one person you would like to meet.....everyone went for usual calabraties :P I decided to go with someone that none of them had heard of since I'm the only one there with the architectural interest.....Steven Holl, check out his work if you are at all interested in Architecture.

bleh im more of a fan of georgian/victorian.

things were much grander then.

i wouldnt say i have heroes. there are just people that is aspire to be. people throw the word hero around too much.
