The Dogs Trust has spoken to K9 Magazine today on the issue of their continued patronage of Crufts dog show in the wake of the RSPCA’s announcement that they will no longer attend the flagship Kennel Club event.

The RSPCA has suspended plans for a stand at Crufts and is calling for new measures to tackle the unacceptably high levels of disability, deformity and disease that threaten pedigree dogs.

Looks like lots of big names are pulling out of Crufts. Lets hope this starts a chain reaction and crufts have to act on the disgusting behaviour of most dog breeders in there show.

Strange how the RSPCA wasn't aware of all the crud floating around the KC/Crufts set until the BBC aired a documentary about it  The cynic in me thinks that, rather than them being quite so clueless, they were just happy to keep on milking the donations/sponsorship money until the tide of public opinion turned to something much more profitable.

<hate>RSPCA</hate>

Glad to see the show lot finally getting some flak though, they've ruined most dogs - us working dog people hate them lol :D

Does this mean the breed can go back to looking like they used to? Because almost all of them are nothing like what they claim to be. The legs go on the underside for a start.

Sadly thats still up to the breeders. If Crufts made it against there rules or RSPCA made it illegal, then nothing will change.

Since when could the rspca enact laws :/

LOL The arse-PCA can't 'intact' anything and never could ;) That doesn't stop them wearing shiny uniforms and calling themselves fancy things like 'Inspector' though. Eejits.

The ridiculous thing is that the RSPCA blatantly knew about all of the issues with ped' dogs, and did nothing. Now that the public know, they can't attend Crufts because there'd be a conflict of principles.

Fixed it for you :D

Less "lose money" more "lose funding" They are non-profit afterall.

I guess that they attended Crufts despite the problems because the money they raised, they thought (and I don't agree with this) would go on to help more animals in need.

It's an ethical question which, I believe, they did not find the correct solution to.

Ah, another OcUK member who knows how the arse-PCA really works. Don't get me wrong there ARE 'ground level' staff who have no idea just what they are involved in, or what the organisation really stands for. I don't want to start tarring EVERYONE with the same brush.

Overall though, they are a nefarious organisation with convictions for various nasty criminal acts (even quite recently) who survive on deceit, emotional blackmail and prosecuting people who aren't able to stand up for themselves. I always laugh in the face of the people trying to collect money for them.

"Tell the directors I'll start paying towards their war chest (for that's what it is) when they stop withdrawing salaries in six figures, building >£20 million offices and driving around in sports cars".

Usually shuts them up for a bit lol

Ben, non profit simply means the organisation doesn't exist to make more money on paper (i.e. they'll invest what they have left AFTER expenses). In this case 'expenses' means £100,000 a year plus for each member of high level staff, plush offices, and drugs to put down healthy animals. Do some reading around, boy. You'll surprise yourself I think. The RSPCA are scum.

In this case, I think that ignorance will be bliss. So; thank you for what you've told me, but I won't be researching.

RSPCA= bad is good enough in this case, when it comes to specifics about animals getting hurt/shafted in general, I'll just get is angry and upset.

THIS website run by a guy I know outs the RSPCA to quite a large degree. Read all about their documented conviction for perverting the course of justice, and how they harass innocent people while making millions in cash...

All charities are like this.

They require the infrastructure of a large business and as such must pay the equivalent these people could get there.

The people in charge generally couldn't give a flying fig about what the charity is about they are business managers they are there to turn a profit and do the job they're hired for.

Sadly the ones that really do belive in the cause etc, are not qualified/smart enough to take the highpositions
