I was pleasantly suprised when just recently the insurance gave me a £2k voucher for Earnest Jones jewellers to go and replace a stolen old Tag link Chrono watch which i only paid £300 for.

Anyway, I went to Earnest Jones the other day and the current version of the Tag Link Chrono looks bloody awful imo, and it does cost nearly 2k. So i think I may buy something and sell it on as really I have more important things i could use the money for at the moment and I could also just buy a cheap second hand replacement for my Tag link which i did <3

Ive been trying to weigh up on what watches/jewellry bought from Earnest jones go for new/nearly new on Ebay and, for the short time ive looked, it seems these watches are like cars in that they lose 30-40% as soon as you walk out of the shop

Any of the watch heads any tips on a whats a good seller :D

p.s The Breitling watches I saw in the shop are sooo tempting to buy and keep :D but i need a new car.

Just an idea, why don't you buy a watch, sell it on, and use the money to go towards you car?

Could you not find a buyer of an expensive watch etc, (obviously for less than the shop price) and then go and buy the watch they want?

That way you know you can sell it and know how much you're getting.

Rather than buying and then hoping to find a buyer.

Nice watch, seems to go for around £1300 on the bay. Shame they dont have the Breitlings on the web site.

That would be ideal, I dont really know anyone who would pay that much for a watch tbh. i just missed out on a friend getting engaged and he would have been interested in a deal for a ring. :(

I would buy a 2k watch and sell it and if you get 1200-1500 its all ok.

yeah its not exactly a loss is it in theory......any money you get back is technically profit since its money you didnt have in the first place.

You will get anything up to the face value of the watch, a couple of hundred lost as easy said wont be bad at all ;)

Perhaps sign up on one of the better known watch forums, and ask if they want one?

Rotty might know a good place to ask.
