Ahem.... SPORE? :p Bioshock? Others will probably follow sheep-like, if they think this somehow may help combat piracy

(whilst they lose further sales, due to p***ing off loyal customers)

Steams been updated and it now says the 18th as a world wide release date... is this a Steam only offer, or has the game been brought forward to the 18th?

Nope, I have been checking it every day this week since I pre-purchased and it's always been 17th US 18th worldwide.

To be fair though they did release a revoke tool for Bioshock and I think eventually patched it out(?)

Not always, its down to the publisher to decide that.

It really does need a pre-load tho, i'm not looking forward to grabbing 15GB tomorrow, i'm going to be throttled like mad by Virgin :(

I cant see why these game publishers have to have this copy protection crap on it. Im all for anti piracy and all that, but why cant they utilise a system where after 3 installs, you have to re-activate the game. They need the same activation system as windows xp and vista.

Has anyone that preordered from the £14.99 place had their order updated at all? mines still saying preorderd

TBH they are always rubbish for pre-orders, back in the day when they were smaller and new on the scene they were awesome, I remember recieving games upto 2 days before the official release, but now the last 3 pre-orders i've had from them have always arived the day after the official release date. Shambles really, I only still use them because they are so cheap.:(
