Just out of interest, does anyone actually follow these as a review? I think ZP is some of the funniest game-related humour on the net, but don't actually take Yahtzee's opinion on the games seriously. Just wondering if anyone does view them for the review of the game, rather than just to laugh.
 
His review of the game was actually 100% spot on, as in 'nailhithead' spot on. I couldn't disagree with a single negative point he made about the game, because it was all true. His taste in gaming is near-impeccable, so much so that the average gamer nowadays* probably thinks he has **** taste in games simply (WARNING: possible controversial statement ahead) because they have little or no comprehension of what good games really are (Psychonauts wha?), and lack an intimate understanding of the history of gaming and what makes games good. I'd call him a connoisseur, and I say that with no hint of mockery. I'm also insanely jealous of his language skills, which border on the freakishly genius. The man is easily one of the funniest people I have ever seen (listened, read, whatever), and that includes many of todays comedy greats.

More often than not I find that he points out a lot of niggles with games, which most reviews fail to show up-I actually find his reviews pretty useful from this point of view.

seen this guy a while back, never knew he had an ongoing thing. So checked out some of his older stuff too. Spore review was quite right actually but i still like the game :D

Although i only have a few laugh out loud moments in his reviews he is actually correct in what he says in all his reviews, quite funny how he strips a game down to the bare bones of what it really is
 
Im not sure, maybe i just dont get it but i watched the eveonline one, i admit i like the game, so when he says, i only had 14 days so not going to do the tutorials or join a player corp just go off and explore, then moan about the fact he cant do anything/doesnt know how to, i cant take the rest of his reviews with anything but giggles. Its liek saying im playing wow without using weapons or talking to anyone in game..... you wouldnt...

Still, he has a nice turn of phrase in places.... picking a skill and saying what the hell is tatical logistics operations lol.. but other than that, i thought his review on the game, shortsighted drivel.

Unless thats the point of his reviews?

Always good for a laugh, not that I pay any real attention to games reviews he does tend to capture the essence of it good or crap'ness for me :).

Well, he is a critic. So in essence he doesnt review games, just offers his opinion on them. If a game has weak points (TBH 99.9% of all new games do) they will get picked apart.

As for EvE, well after 3 years in there, I thought his review was close to the mark. Somehow it turned space into an excel spreadsheet.
