Champions League fixtures - 16th & 17th

Great performance from United, but it's pretty clear why we had to spend £30m on a new striker.

Ref was poor. Blew up early in the first half, it wasn't a pen, then 3 mintues injury time shown in the 91st minute, then blows on the stroke of 93.

Not a bad result in the end. Great assist for the goal by Eboue.

It looked like a the attacker had his arm wrapped round Sagna then pulled him down on top of of himself. Thank god their shooting was some of the worst i've seen in ages.

Cheeky *******. That's horrible.

Well, I could say that we should have taken our chances in the first half. All in all, I can understand why they had 0 points last year. They were awful.

He was shocking, yet Parry seemed to believe he was Pele. He shot everytime he got the ball, most of the time from 40+ yards.
Aye, other than take the penalty very well, and consistently buzz around our defenders, I really couldn't see what the commentators saw in him. Being "not afraid to shoot" is all well and good when you can aim said shots, but he was never anywhere near the goal.

I didn't get the extra time thing either. There were two minutes wasted when the Kiev player got injured and they played about with the subs and bringing him off, and yet we only got the three minutes on the board? Never mind that the ref started blowing before the Sky timer had even reached 45 mins in the first half.
Great assist for the goal by Eboue.

Awful penalty decision but Arsenal weren't worth more than a draw tonight, I'd be inclined to say that they even deserved to lose.

One positive is that Theo actually looks like the real deal for the first time since I've seen him in an Arsenal shirt, I am very encouraged by his last few performances he just seems like a completely new player, great stuff.

Man Utd deserved two penalties but got neither (surprise surprise) lucky to escape another own goal (off Evan's knee I think) before his attempt at the other end

Shouted at Rooney to shoot a few times - and Tevez had a couple of good chances too

Getting a little narked with Nani, I know he hasnt had many games this season (tonight was only his 2nd) but Im not sure he will ever be Utd quality, maybe a good sub but thats about it

Park was really good imo - pity his best position is where Ronny plays best

I guess we got a point on the board, but we really should have had 3

Villereal had one decent attempt at goal - 90% of the time they were behind the 1/2 way line it seemed and where happy containing Utd rather than making a game of it

Well once again we're screwed by crap refereeing. Im amazed that people can still say refs make decisions in our favor, 2 stone cold penalties 'not seen' AGAIN. Performance wise it was much more encouraging tonight, just a shame things didn't fall for us.
