Would it be worth buying £10 worth of Zimbabwe dollars, just in case they make a miraculous recovery? You'd be a billionaire.

Not my idea BTW, someone at work was taking about it.

No as they will just re-invent a currency (like they did in 2005) making the uber note jsut as worthless as it is now.

Also you'll be effectivly bankrolling some of the economy.... (injection of forigin money)

Would be good to spend a penny though and get a massive note (couple of billion though)

No. It would be even worse for Zim's economy if it suffered hyper-deflation to the extent it has recently suffered from hyper inflation. If they ever get their economy under control again, at some point they will most likely reduce the size of their currency i.e. say for example from tomorrow, every trillion dollars you have will be converted into 10 new dollars. Turkey has done the same with its currency recently I think.

I want a 100 $bn note.

I hear the questions have to get easier as you go on their who wants to be a millionare, the depreciation is that bad.

Nope. The currency is worthless, It'll never recover as they are just printing more and more notes, there isnt enough stuff in the country to give the notes value

They have alreayd created a new currency (called something like New Zimbabwean Dollars) where $100bn is worth $1 (Don't know the exact rate). You have to swap your old dollars for new dollars so the old dollars are no longer legal.
