Hiya guys,

I am meant to be saving money but I have been offered one of these more or less brand new for £200 inc. the kit lens. I have not tried the 400D but I recall trying a canon and a Nikon D40x i think it was a while ago when i almost bought a DSLR and i preferred the Nikon in terms of comfort. Is this a bargain worth ripping his arm off for or should I just wait and get a Nikon later on? I currently don't own a DSLR so this would be my 1st.

My god £200! Bargain of the century especially if including the kit lense :D

They're still £300-£400 new.

Although saying that, you'd probably regret it if you preferred the D40x Get the one that suits you best, I bought a d40X after trying both because I got on with the menu system a lot better on the nikon. Although I'm cursing the absence of an auto focus motor in the body but it's not too big a deal.

Good rpcie but if you don't like the feel then you might still be wasting money buying it and then buying a Nikon body.

Although, perhaps at that price it would be possible to resell it at a profit if you didn't like it.

The battery grip vastly improves the feel of the 400D btw
