So lets get this straight.... by the DVD, get **** on by EA with crippling DRM restrictions on number of installs. Not good.

Buy on Steam, get **** on by having no preload option, blatant LIES about the release date, and not be able to play the game when you want to - and also have to use a huge chunk (or all) of your allocated bandwidth, throttling your net connection for the next week.

Remind me, what would I be paying for if I bought this?

That is your own problem - you chose your ISP, not Valve, and not everyone has trouble because your ISP is crazy.

Well, i'm generalising here - not sure how many gamers may be on limited ISP packages, I know i'm not - but due to where I live I have a 1Mb connection, the distance from the exchange and rural location dont allow any better.

So for me to pull it down on steam, even at top speed would take around 20hours for 8Gb, so a release date on 19th means id be looking at the 20th at best to play it, and seeing as I dont know if i'll like it or want to keep it - i'd rather have a physical copy for resale later!

I wouldnt pay £20 for a film that I could only watch 3 times, or can watch as much as I like but never sell - so why should I do it for a game?

I can't mention competitors but its from the place that sends you an SMS when it has been shipped. They do free next day delivery and tend to send things out so you get them a day before release.

No ...no 'forced' vehicle sections. There are vehicle sections, but you can get out at any time and even, in the 2nd level, get into your ally's vehicle if you don't wanna walk. Or pick up any LTV or Truck along the roadside to use instead.

Release date check has nothing do to with activations or anything though, almost every game has some kind of Securom and has done so for years.

Am ****** with Valve. Can't believe it's releasing on the 19th! Blatantly false advertising. I honestly thought I was going to get to give it a go tonight.

Now, I know it's only a day, but the point is they lied stating it's released to rest of world on 18th. For a digital delivery there is no excuse for this kind of rubbish.

I am a bit annoyed though, the game is meant to be out today, the big high street game stores wont sell it though, the copies are there.

I'm going to print out the Warhead website and take it there because the game is out today :/

Installing my copy now. Comes on 2 discs. Second one is in one of those crappy cardboard case things, says 'Crysis Wars' on the disc.

So, I have only 40 gb of space left on my c drive, should I remove the original Crysis? I never play it now. Think I will as I only left on for multiplayer which was awful in a large way. Hopefully Wars will be better.
