The UEFA Cup proper finally gets under way this afternoon, with a choice of 6 matches to choose from - Five showing their traditional triple-header, and Sky electing to show the Man City game on Sky 1 instead of on one of their sports channels (tho they could have put it on SSN and let those of us without a Sky subscription see it).

Villa's game is in doubt after heavy rain in the last 48 hours. It's meant to be dry today but there's puddles down one side of the pitch, so it could be a last-minute decision as to whether it goes ahead.

No news is good news I guess, nothing more said on it, so you'd assume it's going ahead.

The scoreline flattered Villa, and they would have been thankfull to come away with a draw if it weren't for the two red cards.

That's the way it goes sometimes though. Practically through to the group stages now, thank god we got that 3rd.

We looked very sloppy, but I guess the state of the pitch didn't help. We play with pace and rarely use the aerial option, so it was difficult for us.

Delighted with the final score regardless
