Best Pub Quiz Questions (+ Answers)

I had to put together a pub quiz a few years ago and came up with a great question which is a bit of a trick and caught loads of people out!!!

What is the highest maximum possible break in snooker?

Valve

Name an animal beggining with the letter N.

You'd be suprised how very few (well know ones) there are.

Narwhal? It might be too early in the morning but I'm struggling for more though without a lot of effort.

Q: How large an area could you cover by flattening a lump of gold the size of a matchbox? A: An area the size of a tennis court.

Q: What was the name of the first living creature to orbit the earth? A: Laika, a Russian dog, rather a sad death as it happens.

What is the largest amount that can legally be paid using only 1p coins?

20p.
OK, I worked very late last night, so my brain is still frazzled... but this question doesn't make much sense to me. Are you saying it's illegal to pay for my copy of the Daily Sport using only one penny coins? Or am I misreading this (quite possible considering my current state).

You can offer to pay any amount with copper coins, the shopkeeper doesn't have to accept the payment if it is over 20p though. Most places won't bother particularly and technically a shopkeeper can decline your custom for any reason they choose (your aftershave may be obnoxious as an example).

Wow, didn't know that.

Well, I knew that a retailer isn't obliged to sell you something for whatever reason they like.... invitation to treat and all that malarkey. Didn't know that there was a limit to the amount of coppers you can use though. Learn something new every day.
