Dell 3007 wfp HC

I got one and love it. It's by far the best upgrade I have ever made. You won't need anything too meaty for normal applications but if you are planning on running games at the native 2560x1600 resolution then aim towards the higher end of the GPU market.

thanks for your advice webbo, i currently have a gx2 and was wondering would that be enough to play crysis and other FPS games at native res ?

also dont suppose you have got any pics of it have you, ive gooled a few but want some real pics

It will be enough to play at native res mate it just depends on what settings you have selected. In my honest opinion in order to get the best out of the native res you do perhaps need SLI

Well, the HC after the code means "High Colour" which denotes that it's a wide-gamut display, I'd look into that to ensure it's not going to cause you problems.

You do know theres a newer 3008? My GTX 280 can run any game at it's native 2560x1600 res on full graphical settings, bar Crysis of course. Most with AA and AF aswell.

Your GX2 will have trouble though because it only has 512MB of usable memory for games (512MB for each core) and this is not enough for 2560x1600 with newer games. I know this from first hand experience and sold my GX2 because of this. Newer texture heavy games will run of of memory at the high resolution and will become totally unplayable.

The 3008 can produce more colours than even the HC (high colour) 3007. And it has a ton of inputs. I also use my 360 and PS3 on it over HDMI.

It's also got much higher input lag due to those inputs (and the scaler chip required), plus there have been oodles of problems with the first revision backlight bleeding. To be honest, Dell really need to get their act together as that's both high-end 08 models having serious issues on launch.

I've not noticed any lag on mine, i also got lucky and didn't have any backlight bleed even though i got mine right after release. But the newer revisions seem to have mostly fixed that issue now anyway.
The 3007's had the same backlight issues on release aswell, always seems to take Dell a revision or two to get it right with 30".
