Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

Right, so I'm getting the following FPS.

AMD 4400x2
2GB RAM
8800GT
Res 1920x1080

Graphics Settings:

Enthusiast = 15fps Avg
Gamer = 20fps Avg
Mainstream = 30fps Avg

That's not too bad considering the rather sizeable res you're running it at. People with 22"/20" monitors should have any trouble running Gamer at their native res on a 8800GT or better.

Yeah, at 1680 x 1050 aa is barely noticable and not worth the fps hit.

Looks like Crytek were lying again about performance :eek:

So far on a 4870 + Q9450 (I know thats not ultra high end) not getting great FPS with AA at all. Lots of microstuttering & some console like pop up for near ground objects like small stones which is laughable on the PC nowadays. Also when you are in a vehicle some building textures are almost blank until you exit the vehicle then the texture suddenly pops onto the polygon surface.

Using the latest 8.9 Cats at least the ATI DX10 shadow bug is fixed.

Good job this game is cheap as so far it plays exactly the same as Crysis!

24x AA is extreme though, seriously high :S

With 2 GTX 280's I would only run 16x on most games and perhaps 4x on Crysis

whats the word on the copy protection system? my order came through today but i cant decide weither to install it on my vista of xp partition, thoughts?

The sound doesn't feel right though, feels like some of the sounds are being sent to speakers I don't have. Can't see any options to change anything useful for audio, just the volume.

You haven't told us what settings / detail level you are using. Also, what level of AA are you using?

Well, perhaps you should try lowering the AA just a tad :rolleyes:

I don't think there is any PC capable of running Warhead at maximum everything... surely?

With 4x antialiasing I can see top end systems running it ok, with 12x or 24x? See above post.

Agreed. With crazy AA settings like that, no wonder tbh.

Looking forward to seeing how my 8800GT 512 performs. I don't mind if I have to sacrifice AA, I'm not the fussiest when it comes to graphical goodness.

Hoping for 1280x1024 everything on high

If he's playing it on his 24" at 1920x1200 as well then there aren't enough :rolleyes:

I wouldn't dream of running 12-24xAA on my 24" with my 4870, granted he has a 4850 in tandem but I still don't think it'd be feasable in most games. Especially considering he's probably using a 512MB model.

Very interested in buying this from steam, but have never bought from steam before. I have HL2 etc (who doesnt..?), so have the account. I presume the game is tied to the account, so if i need to reinstall vista or change computers, i can just redownload the game again? Is there a limit to the number of times you can do this?

lol @1920x1200 24xaa, crytek lied it doesn't run at 60fps at these settings at all!
