I am filling in the online payment form for my University fees and for the next step, it is asking for my SSN number, in relation to 'SLC'...so 'Student Loan Company' but what is my SSN number? Surely it's not social security number? And it isn't my Art ID, or is it?

Do you have the forms from the SLC?

I would call the uni registration office and see if they can advise, you may be able to skip the question.

I have e-mailed the office and I will try and find out tomorrow...just wondered if anyone knew so I could complete it ASAP. I can't skip the question.

I'll go through the forms again but the 'SSN' bit doesn't ring a bell. Hmm.

Looking through google brought me to this page from Leeds University. According to them SSN stands for "Student Support Number", whatever that means. I'm guessing you get one when you confirm your place there.

Mind you if you're not going to Leeds uni then that probably doesn't help one bit lol.

On one of the forms I had to fill out, it asked for an ART ID or SSN. You can find these numbers on any letters your LA have sent you.
