Critique my car ad ( and other selling questions )

Looks good, I've looked at a lot of M3 adverts in the last 6 months and yours is certainly better than most. Would prefer to see a more in depth description of the condition of the car, because everyones car is in "excellent condition" apparently! The no offers thing depends on the buyers really, if i saw a car and thought the price was too high, but it said no offers, id skip it completely. No harm in just putting the price and then when people come to view you can tell them you think it's competitively priced and wont shift on it, you're just putting up a barrier before they even see it.

hopefully excellent is not exagerating, it has 3 stone chips on bonnet, 1 on wing and the lower front bumper is a bit pot marked ( they all are ), so obviously immaculate would be too much but for a 5.5 yr old car I thinks it's good

interior all good apart from a bit ( below average ) wear on drivers seat bolster where you get in and the interior door handles has "crazy paving" laquer finish, they all go like that after 1 summer

not sure, anyone have and idea if this is best idea ?

I'd say you might as well, pistonheads is usally for exactly that petrolheads. For instance my old man is a GP and wouldn't mind an M5 as his next car, but he's never heard of pistonheads whereas he would look at auto trader. Auto trader is pretty much a household name, pistonheads isn't.

EDIT: Can't be much to advertise on there anyway?

Personally I would put it in both,

I sold a car in autotrader that wouldn't shift on PH.

I sold a van on PH within 3 days of listing it funnily enough.

Some people don't have a clue about pistonheads tbh.

Also, give ebay a go. You can have a huge listing with lots of detail :)

Looks really tidy, tempted at that price :)

Sorry if you said, but why aren't you including the plate? Would seem obvious to include tbh.

Good luck with the sale, I'm letting a few fellow notts contractors know who might be interested ;)

I'd leave it on PH for a week and see how many calls you get.

Regarding the reason for sale, I would leave it off personally. As a buyer, I wouldn't disregard it because the seller didn't state why he/she is selling it. It's just another thing to ask when you call them ;)

At the end of the day, the advert is just there to give people a good idea about what the car is and it's condition. A serious buyer will call if it's what they're after.

I'd think about polishing and waxing it before anyone comes to look at it, if you haven't already.

Last car I sold went on autotrader, ebay and pistonheads.
Sold via pistonheads, ebay and autotrader users that came and looked all seemed retarded.

jesus rotty that is cheap, i thought i got a good deal on a minty m3 in feb at 17k but mine is a 02 and needed an insp 2!

I'd say price to match condition, make it clear you're not trying to get rid, you're taking your time about upgrading as far as a customer should be concerned. Because it ain't priced to sell.
