Argghhh youtube is getting on my nerves lol

We are on BT. I just tried it on a couple more pc's and its still the same. It happens every now and then but this afternoon and tonight has been pretty bad. It was winding my son up no end earlier.
 
I get freezing on iPlayer when using the high quality option occasionally, really annoying :/

Thats your problem, you have BT. Read up on their traffic shaping, it slows down all internet traffic during peak times. Last few days has screwed youtube for me too, going to get my mac code on monday and go to o2.
 
Yeh im blaming myself tbh. I keep saying to the missus I will jump ship over to a better isp. Our connection is total pants, should be getting at least 7meg but its never above 2 since our line went faulty and was repaired.
 
They shape http during peak time so I wouldn't ever expect 2meg from them when it gets busy. I'm not one to bash them but their service is dire and the last few days youtube has been very bad for me. It did pick up a bit tonight but its still nothing compared to my girlfriends llu aol connection which flys.
 
I really should get over to another isp. We have sky so im thinking about their internet package, I know about all this downloading thing all these isp's are jumping onto but at the end of the day I hardly download anything. All I care about is a solid connection and BT just dont deliver that anymore, their support is comical at best lol
 
Yeah tiscali employ fairly harsh traffic shaping too as far as i know. I'm moving to o2 as I have a contract with them, I did look at sky but they don't seem to cover my area.

Er, then why can I download full speed HTTP stuff all day and all night long on BT? the only issue I ever have is occasionally with the high quality iplayer episodes.

Torrents get shaped occasionally, although it's like 1 evening a week from what I see, admittedly I don't use them very much so it's a non issue.

Are you running Kaspersky AV. I get freezes with HQ iPlayer in both XP and Vista x64. Turning off KIS sorts the problem out. Check out this thread.

mac code errr

start>run>type 'cmd' then push enter>type "ipconfig /all">look down the list for mac address.

If on vista then just type cmd and push enter in the search bar
