Star Wars: Force Unleashed Demo

Done about 2 hours of this, Bit disappointed tbh. Starts well then gets a bit meh.. Just seems to be devil may cry with star wars to me...

I was playing this for a couple of hours last night on PS3 and I really like it. There is one thing I find quite annoying though and that is why the hell didn't Lucasarts just use bloodu mo'cap to animate the characters walks in cut scene's??? They all walk like bloody ***** and it just doesn't look right for a modern big budget title imo.

I 'tried' the PSP version too and I'm glad I went for the PS3 version tbh - there is a world of difference in quality and the way the game feels - wonder if it's the same on PS2 and Wii versions?

Wii version is fun, but there is a lot going on in the screen, perhaps too much.

I like:-
- Its star wars
- Force grip and throwing stuff about is fun and well implemented
- Lightsaber movements, although not being a 1:1 mapping of how you move the remote, are done well. You can build up combos by varying the combination of up, down, left and right swipes, in a way that is quite intuitive.
- Back in Nar Shadda!

I don't like:
- Cut scenes are a bit chunky (but I suppose this is the Wii version, I should be greatful that the main protagonist isn't my Mii I suppose!!)
- Quite a lot going on at once, sometimes it gets a bit mad-waving-the-wii-mote rather than honed-skills-of-the-sith.
- I'm facing the Jedi/Wookiee/whoever. Camera facing the wall, slowly panning round to the protagonist, while I'm getting the **** kicked out of me.

Overall, and this maybe because I'm such a die hard sw fan I'm a Jedi Knight on the last census, I was quite pleased. I'd be tempted to have a go at the Xbox 360 / PS3 versions too.

Would really benefit from a proper PC conversion imho.

Should state that I have only played this for 30 mins, and haven't tried the Versus 2 player option yet :)

Hope that helps :)

im interested in this game looking at all the reviews it sounds good , i might get round to downloading the demo .

i used to like the starwars games on the psone , without playing the demo would you say this is worth a purchase?

I read on another forum that using unlock codes means you can't get an achievement. Although that is kinda sucky if it means the codes given by game retailers caused a loss of an achievement.

/side note, it would appear that you're just down the road from me.

There are no acheivements or trophies on PS3 version anyway so not too bothered.

/where are you located then?

Ive really enjoyed it so far, playing on the hardest difficulty you can start on (hardest is locked) and im on the last level which is quite difficult!! loving the challenge, love star wars, gooooooooooooooooood times!

Ive been playing it on and off over the last week or so, id probably say about 13 hours - but i have been pratting about with force powers - and there have been some tough battles, i have yet to find all the secrets on a level too, so going to go back through :)

I've found it hard to find a game to keep me going for months now, but this has me wanting more - im enjoying the story, some cool little twists and battles, good bridge between Episode III and IV

Having a lot of fun with this :) On the final level now, started yesterday and had a day off work (Actually ill!) so blitzed most of it, great game, loving it, and some of the euphoria moments, of stormtroopers grabbing railings as they fly over in an attempt to save themselves gave me a big grin! As did your droids surprise! :)
