cpu,QUAD CORE Q6600 2.4GHZ LAPED AIRO 7 CPU COOLER LAPED
MEMORY DOMMATOR 2X1GB PC2 8500 CS 1066MHSZ
GRAPHIC CARD BFG 9600GT
HARD DRIVES 2 500GIGS 1 250 ALL SATA
2 DVDS DAUL LAYER SATA
POWER SUPPLY CORSAIR 600 WATT
RUNNING XP PRO
ALL COMPONETES ARE NEW, THE THING I FEEL IT IS NOT FAST CPU GOES TO 3.66 GHZ OVERCLOOCKED.
IT IS SLOW TO BOOT UP THE GAMES ARENOT THAT FAST EVEN I RUN THEM ON THE 32 C HARD DRIVE,
WHAT SHOULD I DO GHANGE THE MOTHERBOARD,GHANGE THE CPU OR MEMORY.
HELP, GRAHAM

How long does it take to startup! What programmes load on startup, run msconfig and uncheck the ones you think are not required.
The GPU is not that great if your gameing, perhaps upgrade to ATI 4850.
Rest of your spec looks fine.

Was it a new install on windows? a 9600gt is not a very fast graphics card regardless of how fast the rest of the system may be

The weakest link in that setup is the graphics card. The CPU is fine..
No, as Ben_M pointed out, the weakest link is quite clearly caps-lock.

Did you do a fresh install when you upgraded?

Have you run 3D Mark to make sure the machine is scoring as it should?

There is no reason why that combination would be abnormally slow, I don't think changing the CPU, memory or motherboard will help you!

ROFL :D calm down I'm not having a hissy fit over here you know. It just seems a bit cheeky to me is all :o.

If it is vista. You need 4 gigs of ram. The 9600gt is the weak link.
You do not *need* 4 gigs of ram for vista, 32bit vista can only ultilise 3Gigs anyway the last gig won't even get used... Although if you want a matched pair you can't exactly get 2x1.5gig sticks.

As for games obviously 9600gt is defo the problem, I'd always aim to spend ~150 on graphics card.

this 9600GT is giving the wrong impression thats for sure. I had a guy the other day saying his 9600GT was obviously faster than my 8800 ultra as his had 1gb memory lolol

IT WILL BE SLOW !!

The only time I've seen vista boot up fast and run 100% smooth was on the 8core mac pro with 32gb of ram ;-). Now that was smooooth !

And yeh, 2gb + vista = crap.

4 is like total minimum I would say.
And the GPU aint best as well.

woopsie , didnt notice its XP :), anyways, I would get 4GB for XP as well, massive difference.
