Is it worth changing my Tsunami Dream for an Antec 300?

I currently have a Thermaltake Tsunami Dream, and tbh the components in it are filling up all the space and its getting really warm in there! my CPU idles at 44-45 degrees!

So i'm wondering if an Antec 300 would be provide me with any noticeable temperature changes?

Thanks! :)

You call that hot? Bah, I had rope-burn hotter than that.

Serious answer: while the cooling in a 300 is good for the price, I don't think you have anything to worry about right now.

Depends purely if you have the black or silver tsunami dream? and if it has a window or not...

44-45 degrees is nothing (my opty 148 roasted at 55 idle and 75-80 underload in one till i got a better cooler for it)

Anyway if you have silver and no window keep it (hug it at night) as its the best combination for that case :D

I have the black one with no window! not sure if its me just getting bored of the case or i'm just thinking of changing just purely for the sake of something new... i've had this tsunami for nearly 2 years now

I'm just thinking with future components, space wise this is going to really struggle to fit things in and keep things cool.

antec 300 is a good case and would probably bring temps down, but i dont really see a need for you to upgrade.

mabye a new cpu cooler instead if you really want temps down.

unless you are sick of your current case and just want a change, then id stick with your current case.

yeah i was also thinking of buying a new CPU cooler, i was looking at the Asus Silent knight AL.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp... AL CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

But i already have a Zalman cooler on the CPU, and with the Asus cooler and the Antec 300 being nearly the same price i'm wondering whether to just buy the case

I'm leaning more towards the case to help cool my gpu down afew degrees too.... jeez! help me!!!!!!!! :(

I think you have a case of upgraditus, time to call CaptainFail!

Sorry, seriously, I think your CPU cooler and case is fine, you don't *need* to buy anything. If I had to choose I'd pick a case that cools better, as that works for all your components ;)

I suppose i have got upgraditus lol :p

yeah i was thinking of getting the case for that very reason! meh when i have some spare cash i suppose i might buy a new case! and probably a new CPU cooler too haha, damn you shiney things! *shakes fist* :D

I am getting a 4870X2 and have the tsunami case and was thinking of getting a new case as from the looks the new gfx card won't fit easily anyone have any experience of this case and the latest cards ?.

Dont know anything about the antec 300 (apart from the fact that it looks lovely) i used to use a thermaltake tsunami windowed case, it was a disaster, crap stock fans, very cramped layout, screwless pci brackets were rubbish, flimsy build quality. worst £70.00 i ever spent:(changed to me akasa eclipse 62, havent looked back since.:)

I went from a chieftec scorpio BX-01 or whatever it was, to an akasa mirage (big mistake). I actually prefered the chieftec to it! The mirage only lasted me about 8 months and I ended up having to get a P182.
