Probably quicker to pirate it!
Currently wondering whether to purchase or not. Got an outdated rig (Opteron 165 @ 2.5 GHz (need new cooler) and a 8800GTS 640 plus 2GB RAM. Ran Crysis OK bar a couple of areas. The thing for me is I REALLY hate pop-up. I always have. Wish they had pre-release Demos these days.

Took me 4 hours to download.
Should have started downloaded it before europe woke. Their servers were maxing out connections in the early hours.
Some screens i grabbed, mainly of the ice levels so if you;re not there ,better not looking

Edit: Looking at the above post, I don't seem to have that option
FIXED IT : Its because you're using the Classic Start Menu , change that to Start Menu ( original )... The games option will be there

I really do like original Crysis, but this game is really getting on my nerves. Buggy as all hell.
And while it initially seemed that performance was consistent, it's not.
I really want to like this game as much as I like the original, but am finding it very hard with all it's texture pop-in, bugs, etc, etc.

good game so far, warning to all who are still tweaking before their playthough, i suggest you leave a small buffer of fps for later in the game as the ice stages unfortunatley hit hard on performance, or just tweak them when you get these like me

10 minutes in, everything is fine, then I change the AA to x4 and the game looks like its on LSD and I can't see anything. How do I re-installed steam games without re-dowloading the whole thing? Argh.

Makes me laugh. A few people say "yeah im gonna download it off steam", then everybody else follows like sheep. Afterwards, everyones like "i wish i bought the hard copy now, damn you steam" haha suckers

What's wrong with buying it through Steam?
Exit Steam. Delete ClientRegistry.blob. Restart Steam. Watch it fly. Watch it slow down. Repeat.
Go to your games menu, right click on the icon, should be an option titled 'play DX9'. If you go into customize you can move 'Play DX9' to the top of the list, that will make the game launch in DX9 when you double click the icon.
I don't have a clue why they defaulted it to DX10, it runs like a dog and only looks marginally better than DX9.
