Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

I wouldn't pick £5 if I dropped it on the street.

So if you dropped a fiver, you would leave it:rolleyes:

Very unlikely to happen this time as I don't mess with any of the config.

Never say never. Even uninstalling sound card drivers or graphics drivers can corrupt a game. Wouldn't it be a son of a bitch if you updated your drivers which causes the game to corrupt, meaning you have to download the game again overnight:D

I still need to finish Crysis, but I'm loving this, just running around blowing stuff up and choking some Koreans, what more could you want!

What happens if someone were to set my manual on fire and I lose the CD-Key, or the disk were to get snapped!

What you need to know about DRM & copy protection, not so bad after all ?

The DRM system implemented for the Crysis Warhead changes copy protection from being key-disc based, which requires authentication every time you play the game by requiring a disc in the drive (this was the system we used in the original Crysis), to a one-time online authentication. This system allows you to play your game without requiring the game disc in the drive on any of five different machines.

Please note: this DRM solution is for the Crysis Warhead disc only. Because of the online nature of Crysis Wars, and because we want to encourage easy-to-start LAN play, you are only required an authentication upon installation. If you want to play online on our servers, you will authenticate via Gamespy as you normally would.

Key Points

- This system allows you to authenticate your game on five computers with the purchase of one disc – you can install your copy on each machine as many times as you want. If you go over five machines, EA Customer Service is on hand to supply any additional authorizations that are warranted.

- This DRM solution is safe. EA and Crytek would never allow anything that included spyware, viruses or malware to be installed on anyone’s computers.

- We know there is concern about what will happen if the authentication servers turn off or questions about what will happen in five years if you want to play the game again (and we hope you do). If that were to ever happen, Crytek and EA would deploy a patch that would remove the authentication requirement completely.

Oh well rob you stick to disks and we'll use steam. Does it really matter what other people are doing if you're happy with what you are doing?

It matters to someone considering downloading this game off steam. My opinions are valid and will make someone decide wether to buy it from a shop, or buy off steam. Not just my opinions, but the 2 users that replied to my post.

Sounds to me like you've already made your mind up. We don't care what you think about Steam, whether you think it's good or bad, just use it or don't: Simple. Those of us who use it obviously think the good points outweigh the bad enough to keep going back to it and we'll probably keep going back to it bar some drastic change.

Back to Warhead: I'm still undecided about buying it, would you lot say it's worth it or not? :)

Am I the only one not happy with this game? The performance is poor, more Crytek lies. The game itself is not grabbing me at all. It all seems a little too easy yet made harder by performance and poor looking graphics.

So far, preformance is kind of crap.. playing in DX10 though, also aliens, why do Crytek have this love for aliens :( I wish it was more human style mission based.. like a COD4 competitor.
