Sky HD, is it worth the money?

I would imagine it being good, but would you pay the extra money just for 1 channel?

No. Get Freesat. Until all of Sky is broadcast in HD, the price is not justified.

Hm, F1 is on BBC next year. Would that mean it will be full HD?

sweet god I hope it is Im fed up of my dads whinging about there being an advert every minute on itv.
General consensus about Sky HD is that it's only worth the money if you're already subscribed to the full package (Sports & Movies) anyway.
You can do that yourself though.

I've had Sky HD almost since it came out. I'm pretty disappointed by the amount of HD content available - I would have thought by now it would have increased way beyond where it is.
Bearing in mind you can have BBC HD without the £10 HD subscription, the only things worth watching are the football and cricket, and the odd documentary on Discovery.
Overall I'd say its pretty poor value for money, but I do find the HD box gives a better picture on SD stuff because of the HDMI connection so I don't regret buying it.

I got it on Monday and I think it's great. Then again it's been used for football, WWE, and a couple of films - all things that have HD channels.
The football and wrestling in particular look a LOT clearer.
Bad points - there are NOT enough channels really. Only a couple of pages' worth. Also even on the channels provided, some content is still in SD.
So it's a limited service, but what is provided is really good. It's going to come down to your mix, and what you watch.

its just a straightforward laptop hard drive
Google for Sky Upgrade hard drives and theres loads of people selling compatible drives (if there is such a thing) and kits to fit them (ie required screw drivers to get in etc..)
Or avoid getting ripped off buying "kits" and just learn to do it yourself, realising it's no harder than installing a new hard drive in your PC.
