Looking for really dark/gothic pictures of H.P. Lovecrafts work illustrated.

As Title really.

Tried to find, images that fit the dark tales of H.P. Lovecrafts work, but a lot of artwork on the web seems (to me) to be a bit cartoon-ish, I have tried Deviant Art, I have searched that place to death.

I am in particular looking for interpretations of Cthulhu

I would be forever indebted.

LOL, that is pretty funny.. I really wish HR Geiger would do some Lovecraft stuff, his work with Alien/Aliens is amazing.

I'm looking for stuff more along the line of

the more the better, and I'll come clean I'm debating whether to get a Lovecraft themed tattoo.

This looks closer to what I see in my head, but I really wouldnt want to do a straight copy.

this is a complete image of what I posted earlier. As I said i really don't want a like for like copy but it is so good. I'm so tempted just to copy. Any tattoo experts? How much/how long do your reckon this tat would take?

Thinking about, I might just try and get in touch with the bloke who originally had it done at least that way I can ask if he minds if I copy. I mean if I was him and someone was thinking of copying me, I'd at least appreciate the courtesy of an ask.

But I'd really really like an original!

Also a Big fan of Poe, but there is something that draws me in with Lovecraft, maybe its the obvious racism through out his writing that never fails to make me LOL, but other than his writing the life of Lovecraft also interests me, and also he was a century ahead of his game.
 
Sorry for the double post, but tattoo experts how much/how long would it take to get done the full arm which is a few posts up? obviously an estimate.

hate to say it, but you type what you want in google image search, it has a fair few results.

Not sure if half of them are what you are looking for, but hey, its a start.

Looking at it, it would have to be re-visited a few times I would have thought, just due to the layers and shading...?

Probably could do it in one go, but that would just take ages and probably leave your arm next to useless for a while...hah

Well thats how found the above tat, its so good tho, but as I said dont want a like for like copy.

My Uncle is really gifted with ink, might ask him to try a new design. But that is asking a lot. I'm sure it would be hours and hours of work.

As I said Why oh Why, has never HR Geiger never taken in an interest in Lovecraft Mythology!?

I realise the amount of shading would take atleast a few sittings.

That tattoo is awesome, but probably a bit too hardcore for me! lol...

I really think its to the drawing board for me.

I also, really like this, and I think I can edit this to something I like.

sorry for the image heavy post, but I think an open forum will end up with the best result for me :p

If only I could extrapolate the left of the picture where the black border kicks in, that would almost be perfect.

So far its the most original/quality one I can find that I know that no ones got a tattoo of.
