There's no "4" in Metal Gear Existence, so it can't be anything to do with MGS4. I'm placing bets on another handheld title -

OR the official game of the official movie of the multi-million selling game!!!!

Existence was the name of the 3rd disc in the MGS3 re-release which contained a re-cut of it's cutscenes and gameplay into a 3 hour "film".

Maybe something similar here?

They released MGS2 on PS2 first then released it as "Subsistance" or whatever on the Xbox the year after, so it's perfectly feasible to imagine MGS4 doing the same.

I think you meant MGS3.

I was surprised as well, while imo being the best mgs game mgs3 didn’t sell as well as the other titles in the series and I thought they would have released substance on the pc, xbox and gamecube to try and make more money.

It doesn't work that way though , they'd only release it on other platforms if it was a sure fire success on it's release platform otherwise it would either be money down the pan or not enough made to make it worth the effort. That's why we saw Substance on Xbox and the original on PC.

I'm not saying that's the way it is with all games, but that's certainly the way Sony/Konami seem to have operated with the MGS franchise.

edit:

The cynic in me would say that it's all part of Sony's grand scheme. By making MGS3 exclusive to the PS2, regalrdless of sales, it would make MGS enthusiasts more likely to buy the PS3 on the assumpting that, like 3, 4 would never make it to any other platform.

They said that MGS4 would remain exclusive. The rumour for a long, long time now is that the re-released MGS4, be it existance, substance, subsistance etc... would be the one to make it to MGS4, that was it's not a broken promise.

Personally, even if it were 5 disks, it would be a lot quicker to change discs that wait for the 5 minute install every chapter and the 8 minute install at the start. Probably the worst thing about the game.
