Hi All,

In regards to the thread, i have decided to get another 8800GT, but its very hard to get another EVGA cheap. If i buy a one from a different manu will it make a difference as long as the stock clock speeds are the same?

Thanks

Gary

when you get it set up please post saying what you think about it as im thinking of the same upgrade but cant decide!

and qwerty321 is correct. so you could just get the cheapest one and overclock them both together to the required speed +

The pre-overclocked versions all have speeds that all GT's can easily be overclocked to from stock. So i wouldnt worry about it. but out of curiosity what are the speeds?

i have a similar issue, i ended up getting an ECS 8800GT 512mb from oc like a month ago which seems to be underclocked as the memory speed says 700mhz(1400) but when advertised it said 1800mhz and im it doesnt seem to want to overclock to 1800 its pretty stupid that it came underclocked and i really cant be botherd to return it, im not sure weather if i should just sell it or try find another ECS as i know other manu's have there card at the 1800mhz clock meaning if i got anther one it would underclock to match my ECS. To be quite honest im finking of just getting a GTX 280 but the prices have been increased to a ridiculous amount i remember last week seeing it for around £240 now its £295 minimum!

Well the one i have no as standard is not overclocked at all. i can get a Inno 8800GT for £60 and the speeds are the same so will they work together?

600/1800/1500Mhz

The 8800GT is VERY memory bandwidth sensitive - dropping back by that much is going to have a huge performance penalty - I'd deffinatly return it.

8800GT SLI is pretty decent performance wise.

^ from the sound of his last post his GT at the moment is at stock. so if he gets the Inno one then he ll have 2 GTs at stock speeds. and he can decide if he wants to OC them at a latter stage. Unless im missing something?

im gonna wait till i get more cash on payday to get a gtx 280 so im not cardless, then probs get a refund if they let me (within next month) i hope it don't mess up my chances if I leave it to late, can anybody with experience add to this?
