In October. Somewhere awesome for a few days within 27th (MON) and back by the following Sunday. Doesn't have to be the full 6 days, can be 3, 4, 5..whatever.

Anywhere in the US? Europe? I want to go on a cracking break away from everything, but want to have lots of things to do too - not a sunbather type.

Any suggestions or pointers would be great.
 
IceLand is gorgeous, but it aint cheap.

Funny this, but some of the best countries I have been to, are probably the most dangerous, or people see them as dangerous.

Israel
Yugoslavia ( Has an amazing history )
Turkey ( My mum has moved there and I will one day retire there too - soon I hope )
IraQ ( No, honestly, its an amazing country )
Saudi Arabia
Africa ( all the North, Tunisia, Egypt etc are all gorgeous - me and my brothers have crossed the sahara on Motorbikes )
 
Okay, so your going on your own.. what's your spending limit? because I would recommend Santa Monica, California, theres a couple of "British" pubs, 1 of which is very welcoming and you'll meet new friends within minutes, a lot of ex-pats, and a lot being "British Celebrities" hang out there ;) lots to do...
 
go to iceland and see the Northern Lights id say it has to be one of the things to do before i die but i doubt ill get out of my comfort zone to do it
