Nice goals :)

I had a strange moment. I took a penalty with van der vaart and it hit the bar,bounced then hit the bar again and came back towards me. Still got the goal though :confused::D
 
Just been playing the demo on the PS3. Can't decide if I like it to be honest, I never really felt in control of what was going on. I'll give it another go later.

Would you be able to tell me the video settings you used when directing the video? The quality on Youtube is great but whenever I upload something it comes out looking pretty naff :p
 
Just giving the demo another blast and I've got to be honest, I'm not really enjoying it at all.

The pace of the game feels all wrong, Kinda disconnected, players feel too quick, there seems to be a lot less space to play in, almost as if the pitch is smaller and/or the players are bigger. If we're talking realism, '08 was far closer for me.

One minor thing that's been bugging me.. You know that sound when you kick a flat basketball? Why have they used that for when the GK saves a shot? ****ing stupid idea whoevers that was.

I'm sure I'll get used to everything and end up loving it but as it stands I'm ****ing annoyed with it! :o

I just used Windows Movie Maker recommended settings. It looked much better before I put it on YouTube.

That's the only thing I don't like, the stupid noise the goalkeeper makes when he saves. Strangely I only hear it in the arena though.
 
just had my first go on the demo, i scored two CRACKING goals, just a few questions :

how can i speed the game up abit? E.g if it was on 5, i'd want it on 7/10.
How can i make players make a run? Sometimes i run upfront with the ball, and everyone just stands around!
 
Had loads more games today and I'm still of the opinion the offline gameplay is way too quick and overly responsive. However, when you factor in the inevitable slowdown you get online, I think we're going to end up with the perfect balance for online games.

When I play '08 offline it's just about right, but when I go online it's just not the same, too slow and a lot of input lag. Playing game after game you get used to it, but soon as you have a game offline you realise just how better the online aspect could be.

You can adjust the game speed in the settings but it makes barely any difference, in my experience anyway.

Tap LB and they'll run into space. Or hold it, can't remember!
 
You are playing with game speed set to slow right ? dont think overly quick its more responsive but not unrealisticly responsive.

I think slow is right balance more like Fifa 08 but with better response normal and fast are just way to quick.

Edit: Just seen your other post now strange you dont see any difference.

Scary, those goals are damn amazing! :) loved the first one with the through lob & volley :)

Only played the demo once as I know i'll end up luusting after 09 for too long, so playing just '08 for now, will hit up the demo again later this week :D
 
And the only real difference is the speed at which the players turn (but that's probably what most people would have liked to speed up anyway).
 
I tried the PS3 version last night and whilst it played the same, I felt it didn't look as good. I don't know how to explain it, but when I went up close to the TV everything looked a bit blurred, the 360 version is definitely sharper for me.
 
I played my first games of 08 in about 6 months last night, followed by a game of 09 demo, most of the things that frustrate me in 08 seem to have gone, the main frustration being how easily the opposition could turn you over.

Hopefully the usual suspects will break release date and we can be playing this next wednesday!

sounds like a typical FIFA game then :)

i've been letdown by FIFA far too often to give it 'another chance' unless i'm sure it's definitely changed .....any old school PES fans have tried FIFA09 demo and thought it ok???

The majority including me changed to FIFA after 2008's version as it was superb, not because PES was awful, regardless of how good PES was I would have played FIFA just as much, or more.

2009 has just refined 08's poor points, I don't understand this thing of not feeling in control of your players, it's not like PES where the ball is always stuck to your feet. Real football is not like this.
