What song says these lyrics, or something similar?

The light is gone isn't in B&G, and the lyrics is 'and if you're not really there then the stars don't even matter'.
 
True, I figured maybe the OP might have misheard the last bit or something, as the 'and you're not really there' is pretty distinctive for Black and Gold, quite recent and catchy
 
Yeah, I guess so. The next bit is pretty easy to pick up, thats why I didn't think he'd get it so wrong. Possible though.

it was pretty clear what song he was on about for you to say "Dont think so", was just being a bit smart really, you knew yourself that it was the exact song he was looking for.
 
and when he said "the light is gone, the light is gone".. he meant "black and gold, black and gold"..

which was all pretty obvious

As I said before, I didn't think someone would get the next line so wrong. Given that 'black and gold' a) doesn't sound like 'light has gone' and doesn't appear in the line after 'you're not really there' it isn't all that obvious, is it?

I didn't know that was the song, that being the case I wouldn't have disagreed!
