Great pictures, but theres a theme throughout of putting people in the middle of the frame leaving massive amounts of empty space above them and cutting there bodies off when you could easily align their face in the top third of the frame and have more of the person in shot.

Just my opinion what do others think?

It depends which one, but prime lens are good for the money if you don't mind moving your feet.

Why are 'fixed' lenses so good?

Prime lens (fixed) have far less glass than zooms, and are optimized to perform best at one fixed focal length, unlike zooms which have to be equally good at all. Various elements in a zoom lens seperate when focusing, afaik all prime lens elements don't seperate and move in one group when focusing.

Its all about being optimized for one job or being compromised for many.

Personally I reckon the 2nd is the best. The richness of color is truly outstanding.

I like the comments people are making about getting a nifty fifty........as if it will magically make there pictures awesome such as these, lol, it will be sharper, but thats all it will do for you, the rest is up to you.

obviously my shots will never come out as good as they, i need an external flash first i justl like how sharp it is :O
