Im using an AC Freezer 7 pro, does anyone have any idea what kind of an OC I could expect from my 1.8ghz e4300?

can anyone point me to a Tutorial on OC'ing this board?

many thanks, the last time I overclocked it was an Opteron 1.8ghz (managed to hit 2.9ghz on air) the performance increase was great.

I know-I've read your thread in the motherboards section.

Firstly, DON'T overclock using a program in Windows, use the BIOS. What exactly did you do in the Asus utility to try and clock it?

You have pushed it too far. I would strongly recommend that you read the Beginner's Guide to Overclocking at the top of this forum.

I don't know Asus boards that well, but you want to clock the chip back down by using the BIOS-never use Windows for clocking again.

On startup enter the BIOS. I think that on your board the menu you want to enter is called the "Jumperfree Configuration". In there change your FSB back down in the CPU ratio control section, or just switch it to auto. This should allow you to boot to Windows.

Then read the guide on this forum before trying to overclock again!

CPR should start automatically if the BIOS detects the previous settings were unstable.. let it boot and when it freezes do a soft power off and then power back on.. should give you an option then to load defaults or go into the BIOS and set your settings..

If you can get to the BIOS then a lot quicker just to go and set everything to auto

well I have managed to get this 1.8ghz baby to 3.0ghz with ease it use to do a 1meg super pi in 30 seconds now its 19:)

tried a 16meg super pi and got an error so I upped the voltage slightly.

my temps running 2 super pi's never went past 51 however when I used Intel TAT it reach 66 on both cores

I probably could go abit higher but I have reached where I wanted
fsb 333x9 = 3Ghz and memory @ 800mhz

thanks chaps this little chip has life in it for a while:D

Okay I have the Bug now my q6600 G0 is now slower in many ways to my e4300@3ghz

I am currently using my q6600 with a Gigabyte g33 DS2R in a Silverstone SG03, so overclocking isnt really an option, as full size coolers wont fit.

However I really like the look of the Silverstone TJ08 which will allow fullsize coolers, if I was to get the OCZ cooler or the new all copper TRUE anyone have any idea's what I could get out of the DS2R OC wise?

Is it a good board for overclocking?
