Central heating - when do you switch yours on?

When ice starts forming inside the windows... or she starts whinging. Usually the latter before the former which is sad for the wallet.

I'm sat here with no pants on. Computer and TV does a good job of heating this room on its own.

When I have to thaw the toilet before it will flush. I have thermostat sense that puts Peter Griffin to shame.

Our heating is currently set to come on if it gets below 14 degrees.

I'm skint and don't want to pay the crazy gas prices!

I lived in student housing for a couple of years and have moved into an inner city apartment now I'm earning, I haven't yet got out of the habit - which I guess is a good thing - of not having the heating on, I never have any hot water turned on until I need it and I switch everything off when it's not used, computer, tv etc. :) the only thing that is always on is the fridge/freezer.

I used to stick on an extra layer, usually a helly hansen thermal top, some rohan walking trousers, inner socks and walking socks and some fingerless gloves :) was always snug. Now though it won't be too bad, the people below and above me using their heating will make sure I don't freeze :D
