Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

I dont get why people though the mine section was so amazing when it was very linear. Im assuming just because it ran great? :confused: I was peaking over 110fps in that segment.

It was very atmospheric and made great use of lighting and generally had good combat that let your nanosuit have a good stretch.

I've really warmed up to Crysis Wars- I refreshed myself on a deathmatch server, and now I'm playing power struggle. It is certainly better this time, seems a lot easier to earn 'points' to buy weapons and vehicles than the last version. Well done there chaps :)

I've nearly finished the single player also- fantastic experience. I wasn't too sure on the idea of more and more action, but actually its paced very well. Highlights go the stages with the other nano suit squad, and the mine complex level, as well as the train pursuit/ride. I just want more now!

Yeah the train part was so damn awesome :D I really wanted more when it stopped :D

Because the combat was very fun inside, and because it was a huge change in tactics from the outside - and yes it looked fantastic, real lesson to other games in terms of indoors graphics and atmosphere - the lighting was awesome and switching on nightvision made it very very cool.

My only pev about this game is that, especially indoors, they could REALLY go to town making the environments interactive and more 3 dimensional / multilayered rather than the simple 1 or 2 floors approach they have.

Goddamnit, I want to climb some mineshafts.

Here we go again. Oh no, a part of a game is linear. I can't wander miles off course for no reason and do something completely different.

Well, considering you're in a mine with limited paths, it's exactly as it would be in real life.

Sometimes in life, you have to follow a certain path.

Thanks

Pleasantly suprised by this game.

2.6ghz opteron
2gig ram
8800GTS
winxp

1360x768 4xaa 4xaf (32" HDTV looks amazing)

Very playable on max settings.

Gameplay is very good (just got to the mine).

Well those people have a non linear life. When going to the postoffice they can either take the mountain pass, river route, broken down mines, parachute and my favorite storm in guns blazing in a gaus tank :D

Hell why not just play the game with a noclip cheat. Make your own route :p

What is so bad about linear first person shooters? I like linear.

Who said there was? But considering the crytek mantra for the crysis series is freedom, funnelling you down little routes like that sort of goes against what theyre aiming for.

Personally i think the game had its best sequences outdoors, lot of big firefights to contend with. Just suprised to see so many people going nuts about the mine sequence.

Well I think it's partly that Warhead doing the only substantial indoor segment just as well as the outdoor segments has pleasantly surprised a lot of people. It provided 'breathing' space in a way too, if you know what I mean.

This game is brilliant. A few glitches here and there that i experienced http://www.xfire.com/video/2a118/ another one with the rocket launcher not showing in your hand. The mine level is great fun, the whole game is fun, i much prefer this over crysis. Lots of explosions and destruction all caused my one bloke!

Been playin this yesterday and I'm annoyed, very annoyed.It still runs like absolute **** and its just crysis in a slightly different location. Its enjoyable enough to play, but why does it run so badly still?Not good enough crytek

Wish someone would make a multiplayer mod for crysis that uses huge densely forested map with one unarmed person in nano suit against a half dozen or so KPA, where the KPA need to hunt down and kill the nano suit guy, who in turn needs to fulfill a couple of objectives/survive for x amount of time\kill all KPA soldiers.

@thecremeegg - are you playing in DX9 or DX10?

Managed to fix my 'jerky cut scenes', made myself a custom config of the following:

con_restricted = 0

r_MultiGPU = 2

r_displayinfo = 1
r_VSync=1
d3d9_TripleBuffering=1

e_particles_thread = 1
es_ondemandphysics = 1
gpu_particle_physics = 1
e_vegetation_static_instancing = 1
e_recursion_occlusion_culling = 1
e_hw_occlusion_culling_objects = 1
e_hw_occlusion_culling_water = 1
e_terrain_occlusion_culling = 1
e_terrain_occlusion_culling_version = 0
e_terrain_occlusion_culling_max_dist = 200

e_view_dist_ratio = 60
e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation = 40

r_WaterGodRays = 1
r_sunshafts = 1
r_colorgrading = 1
r_usePom = 1
r_UseEdgeAA = 0

r_SSAO = 1
r_SSAO_quality = 1
r_SSAO_radius = 1
r_SSAO_darkening =1.3
r_SSAO_amount = 0.6

r_TexturesStreaming = 0

I run all 'Gamer' settings, then let that config add in the effects I want (like colorgrading, sunshafts and the like), looks great, runs silky smooth, and now all my cutscenes are like butter. \o/

Not sure which part of it fixed it (as I was just generally tweaking my visuals/performance), but it did.

TBH old crysis ran so much better in DX10. I can't play this at all in DX10.

Lol, I'm the complete opposite.

Original Crysis runs best in DX9 high when using 4xAA. DX10 is just a bit too slow.

Crysis warhead there is something wrong with running game in DX9 for me for some reason, but runs like a dream on Gamer with 4xAA in DX10.

how does the claymore work? when i press the fire button it drops to the floor and when someone walks by its doesn't go off and you don't get a detonator switch.
