Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

I am very impressed by how well this game runs. They have indeed made tweaks to the engine as Crysis was never this playable. I think it looks just as good too...

O/S: XP SP2
Mode: DirectX9
Detail Settings: Enthusiast (Everything)
Resolution: 1280x1024
AA: None

FPS vary between 25 and 45. Even when it dips down to 25, it's not entirely noticeable :) Not bad for an 8800GT :D

Nice job Crytek!

Totally blown away by the hovercraft section. Trying to take my time and make it last!

Have you overclocked your 8800GT matey? I managed to get a fairly decent overclock out of mine (725 or something on the core I think). Had to install a third-party cooler though. I know there are some fairly intensive sections coming up, so my card will probably start struggling then :(

Well, I'm enjoying it while it lasts lol. But FYI, outdoor areas (so far) aren't an issue. The framerate does drop a fair bit when several vehicles, explosions, NKs and various other effects fill the screen :D Perhaps the processor and extra 2GB ram I have gives me the extra few FPS I need for things to be a little smoother?

I'm running everything on stock, I might have a go at oc'ing my graphics, its been a long time since I've done any overclocking though, should be interesting :D

My 8800GT has a beefy gold heatsink on it, runs at about 40/45° on load, so i've probably got a bit of room for improvement.

You can easily squeeze an extra 50-70 mhz out of the core for a surprisingly large increase in performance. Be aware though, the ram on 8800GTs can be quite temperamental so i tend to just leave it at stock.

Definitely worth a try! Even when overclocked my card never goes above 50°c full load :) Not sure how many extra FPS you'll get though to make it worth while.

I dont suppose anyone can help me?
Basically launching crysis warhead through Steam, loads fine and go change settings.
But the resolution 1680x1050 is not available?
Any ideas how to access that resolution?
Thanks

Was reading the requirements today on the back of the box, hard to believe crysis in vista requires a 3.2ghz cpu, I'll have to go buy a QX9775 now as my e6600 is too slow, least I can get rid of my 8800gtx and trade down to a 9800pro.

I think i will need to dig out Crysis again and play that to the end before i order warhead

I played it with a 8600GTS but no orded the ATI Radeon HD 4850 i hope the snow does not kill my GFX again and have to set evethting to "LOW" lol.

anybody played crysis or Warhead with the 4850? and what FPS did you get at what settings?

Rest of Specs Sig
