Crysis Warhead - Gone Gold

Anyone else noticed in warhead if you're standing still on a moving vehicle (the train for example) and engage the cloak your energy gets drained like you're sprinting.

delta is the only way to play and i generally don't like too difficult games but crysis scales the difficulty in a natural way not in a cod4 way of wallhacking/aimbotting enemies

only had one issue with it the whole way through, a couple of guards in the mines section had gauss rifles and 1 shot killed me as soon as i turned the corner everytime. cloaking sorted that out but in general it was very fair and makes you play the game in a much better way not just running in basically as superman and destroying everything in your path

Yeah, noticed that too.

Another problem with that train section is you have almost no inertia - jumping forwards is a nightmare, and if you jump with max strength you will go backwards. Now I know you will immediately begin to lose inertia the moment you lose contact with the train, but not to the extent you do here.

Cloak on the train is because your suit is using energy to quickly change to the moving surroundings, when you are stood still (not on a train!) the image doesn't change much so less suit drain. (That's the theory anyway!).

I had the same problem with that gauss rifle guy in the mine tunnels, stepped round the corner and DEAD! I was like... WTF! eventually just lobbed a nade round and stormed him.

I seen 60FPS inside the Aircraft Carrier, not anywhere else though.

1280x960 ALL Enthusiast no AA.

After that I played at 1600x1200, but DX9 as of refresh rate issue in DX10.

con_restricted 0 is just to enable you to do certain commands ingame that wouldn't be allowed before. sys_budget_videomem is actually for monitoring purposes and doesn't add or take away performance. r_texturesstreaming is the obvious one here, it loads textures to memory all in one go and keeps it there - you will see noticeable less stuttering but graphics cards with lower amounts of memory (particularly at higher resolutions) will suffer overall. It also means your game looks consistently nice, with no texture popin.

Only the texture streaming one will help or hinder performance, the other two is bogus in that they don't really do anything.

Ah see that makes sense. My CPU is certainly the bottleneck in my system and would i be correct in saying that texture streaming puts a load on the CPU? Either way, it runs better for me.

Apart from - the train level, whenever i look at that huge dome of ice my FPS plummets, anyone else had this issue?

Yeah it can do, very slight CPU load, as it's tasked with deciding when to load the appropriate textures back and forth. I've not had the issue with the ice dome though.

good theory, didn't think of that

Is there a way to limit your FPS? For example, set a maximum fps of 30. It's a bit disorienting in Wars to go from 60 to 30 all the time, a consistent framerate would be much better. Half Life 2 for example had cl_maxfps 30. What does Crysis have?

well i brought it yesterday and just finished it tonight. really enjoyed it roo, far better than the last. played fine on my rig with everything max but no AA or motion blur. would have like it to lasta bit longer though. fraps said i had about 25/30fps too but it felt like more??

Well glad i brought it!

Exact same thing happened to me. Playing on delta, Full health, shield activated, thought i killed everyone then BAM, took out with a single shot. Awesome:D Here's the vid http://www.xfire.com/video/2a10f/

I always dig the shotgun out in closed areas. I just played on multiplayer. Loads of players are camping in cloak mode sitting on rooftops. Now that winds me up!
