Headphones - Comfy, cheap and not like listening to a fart in a tin can.

^ can't fault my EX71 's, but can't find them cheap anywhere

-don't buy any headphones from 3rd party market places or ebay, they'll be cheap fakes

Sony EX85, £15 delivered. Arguably the best 'phones this side of £50.

If you don't this you're a fool, they aren't amazing, but for £15 you won't get any better.

I've made mine sound much better to me by blocking the front three vents with wax (you can do it with clingfilm but i think it looks messy :p)

Ear wax?

I want to try some triple flanges on the ex85 as I think this will acheive a seal.
I don't agree they are the best this side of £50 though the mylarone x3i are better and are currently £32 delivered I payed £28 when the $ was weaker.

as raved about on head fi altec lansing im716
The Altec Lansing is the result of the good teamwork of Altec and Etymotic. And it shows! The IM716 ‘hears’ like the Etymotic ER6i and the ER4p. And that’s not all. Some state that the Altec IM716 is a proper clone of the (much more expensive) Etymotic ER4p although the Altec has more bass. The result is a warmer, less analytical sound.

Like most other IEMs the IM716 provides you with a perfect insulation against surrounding noise after you have reached perfect seal. Although you have to plug them deeply into your auditory canal, the Altec IM716 are comfortable enough to wear them for hours.

£30 ish

I never really actively went out to buy these but they came with my Sony MP3 payer. They're lovely and very good sounding. This is somebody who used to hate with a passion earphones and only like headphones.

fleabay at the moment theres some <£50 but in the states there was some a while back at £30 in the uk ,theres a thread on headfi where some place in america was selling for about $25 maybe thats where all the stock came from

if i am out of date with the price then just ignore my suggestion, i have been known to be wrong in the past:)

Interesting question. I'm amazed that you found a set of cans that sounded "like a fart in a tin can in the first place" Please post a link for those of us who might be interested in the occasional well modulated fart.:D
