Games that should be brought up to date...

Elite.

I would love to see a proper Braben developed remake of Elite. The would need a new word, awesome simply would not suffice. Also I'd like to see what they could do with a game based around the Harpoon naval conflict series nowadays.

edit: Also if someone could see their way to making a 100% exact remake of Medal of Honour: Allied Assault, only with modern graphics, perhaps a few more multiplayer maps and a functioning anti-cheat, I would be most grateful, thanks.

Stunt Car Racer.

Definitely :D

Although, with moddable racing games like rFactor, it's possible to make the track, although not things like the crane that put you back on if you fell off. Also, no moving track peices :(

There's always the Trackmania games too.

A few people have said things like Chuckie Egg. I still maintain that really old games like that were only fun because we didn't know any better in the 1980s. I defy anyone to play something like Pacman or Asteriods for more than a couple of hours and still be enjoying it at the end.

yea id agree with you there !

Im still convinced it was the enix team that poisoned Squaresoft.... :(

Nonsense. They didn't mix enix and square development teams. Actually, Enix never had development teams. They were only a publisher, they got other companies to develop their games. Any influence Enix staff had over the Square staff can only have been indirect management decisions.

If you could choose one old game, that you would like to be brought up to date (with regards to graphics, physics etc. etc.), while keeping the gameplay and everything else the same, what would it be?

Personally I would LOVE to see the original Unreal in one of the new engines. The game was so leagues ahead of anything else when it came out, and I remember being awe inspired by some of the level design, also the game was huge!

So then what would you like to see brought up to date?

Diablo 2
