So finished work today and just before getting into the car looked at the superb beading as it just poured with rain about an hour earlier- well pleased with the results :)

Anyway I open my driver's door and hear a scrape

I look over and one of those low signs that show that bay x is for company y was there conveniently BENT towards my car where the car in that bay had obviously hit it whilst parking and bent it in the direction mine was parked.

Needless to say the corner of the sign scraped against my door creating an inch long scratch - not too deep but not a surface scratch either.

Wanted to know if this is easily fixable perhaps if anyone has fixed similar scratched before ?

I didn't notice the sign because it's one of those that stick out of the ground and it was for the bay opposite facing my driver's side so it was "flat" as I walked up to my car (like Super Paper Mario).

I am kicking myself.

Looks fairly deep, why not try that DR Colourchip set or maybe see if one of those local "chips away" type vans can sort it?

Failing that if you have some polish you could always try and "fill" it slightly. Go in all directions (not in circle) and see if you can't get it down a bit.

How about getting a life? Its just a scratch.

*gets popcorn*

Scratches don't look nice, and must be extremely annoying on car that was bought brand new, and even on a car that was bought 2nd hand.

I can catch it with my fingernail but it has not gone through the undercoat/primer as you can see it's exposed the undercoat. I don't mind just being able to fill in the scratch with the same colour so that it's not so visible - will dr colorchip do this ?

How big is that?

I've updated the pic with a proper one as my phone cam wasn't so great!

How does one get this to Scoobydoo's attention? :D and how much! but most importantly will it do the job?

dr colorchip it.

on a car like yours that is otherwise spotless i think anyone can understand you wanting even something as small as this sorted

Don't worry, he is :D

You'll scratch it more with that ruler ;)

Some DR Colourchip would probably help in this situation?

either that or a dealer touch up stick

Vauxhall ones are £7

not sure what BMW charge.

but the dr colourchip stuff is apparently very easy. using a touch up pen and then labouring away using polish to try and blend the paints is not.

how good is your insurace? if your NCB is protected, phone up and claim it as a car park ding, when they accept the claim go outside and hit it with a hammer.

-this is actually a bad idea
