I turn 18 in less than a month and don't like alcohol. So I won't be clubbing/going to the pub/ getting completely wasted for my birthday. I'll be drinking orange/apple juice.

I don't want to get drunk, I don't want to 'live a little', I don't particularly want to meet some random 'hot girl' in a club or bar, I don't know where they've been.

Anyone like me out there?

We seem to have this thread once a month, but beer and lager both taste like **** to me and I'm 25, never liked it.

Just because you aren't drinking doesn't mean you can't go and have a good time. I almost always drive into town when I go out.

Also, see the thread about not liking clubbing ;)

I was like you for 40 years but started drinking Real Ale 10 years ago when workmates decided to educate me.
I'm still not a big lover of alcohol but sometimes in the right place at the right time it can be good.

You're completely right, alcohol is awful and there's absolutely no point in you even TRYING going to a club, a bar, getting drunk, or doing anything.

Well done you.

I will have an odd rum and orange juice to be sociable but different. Otherwise the only thing which happens when I have a few drinks is I fall asleep.

As being drunk seriously affects the enjoyment and performance of erm, recreational activities.

that makes you 63 by my reckoning (assuming you first tried drinking alcohol when you were 13)

It's not that I don't like alcohol. Then again the only drink I liked was JD, but I don't drink at all now.
I drive if go anywhere with mates but none of my mates drink much either. My b/f doesn't drink and if we go anywhere mates will only have a couple.

meh, some of my friends drink, others dont, we all go out and do different things (one of them is going to pub/into town) its not a big deal.

Thanks :D:rolleyes:

There isn't at all, as everyone is usually slightly/completely drunk, and you can't (from experience) have fun when everyone else is drunk.

I used to hate alcohol. Then I moved to university and lived with flatmates who wouldn't let me get away with it any more. Now I love the stuff. Just because you don't like it now, doesn't mean you'll always hate it.

That said, you certainly don't need to get drunk to have a good time. I usually have MORE fun when I'm sober - I'm one of that rare breed of man who drinks beer because I think it actually tastes nice.

I was like that before I was 18 - a couple of months after I became 18 I was out with my mates every weekend down the pub. Not sure why it is but that's the way it is with most people I think...
