Your choice of car and why

From your list I only feel qualified to comment on the Octavia vRS.
I've been an extremey happy owner of the 2.0 TFSI Octavia vRS for just over a month now.
Refined, fast, smooth are three words I can use.
Subtle looks, real "wolf in sheeps clothing".

I have been driving around with a smile on my face ever since I got it.
Some of the vehicles on your list were also in my consideration - others weren't.

Thanks. I really like Octavias but am yet to take one for a test drive.

This one is over budget but it's practically brand new!

Looks like very very good value for money.

200 bhp in a really heavy car though.

Even the Volvo V70R had 300Bhp and was still quite slow due to all the weight.

Edit:- 0-62 seems to be around 8 seconds, which is slow in my book.

Still, it does look nice. The front brakes look a bit weedy though, and I cant belive you would rather have that than a SPEC C Impreza Sti.

If it was my only car 330ci or ST220, but I wouldnt plow 10k into a 220 now, 330 would have been for me if I had had the extra cash for insurance.

As an everyday car I'd pick the 330Ci as it is the most rounded car in that list. As a weekend fun car, from that list the Evo VI is probably the only thing that would come close. The rest are all wrong wheel drive.

as much as it pains me to say it, you can get a low mileage fully kitted out MK4 R32 for around 10k now :( rather that than a gti.

dc2

why?
Best drivers car and prob most fun out of that list. Its what I ended up with having started out with a list similar to yours.

Bit silly to completely remove a car from the list of options just because it drives the front wheels

Not at all, especially when I prefer RWD. I can appreciate that ITRs, even though FWD, are quite special but I don't like how FWD cars drive. I much prefer the characteristics of RWD.
