pc speakers question

hi
i`ve never used pc speakers , and was wondering if i get some will i notice a big difference from just using the internal tv speakers?
i just installed a xonar sound card and could not really hear much difference untill i plugged some earphones in and then -WOW what a difference!
this leads me to think maybe my tv speakers are sh. not very good.
what do you think?
 
Built in speakers will never be as good as a dedicated setup. Something like the Creative Gigaworks 2.0 speakers will give you much better sound quality, an easy setup and not cost the Earth
 
Never used pc speakers? Wow. TV/Monitor speakers are terrible. Now you have a Xonar sound card get a decent set of speakers and you will be well impressed. Based on a load of reviews i have read i have just paid £35 inc vat for a set of brand new Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers. I really wanted the X-230 2.1 set but they are scarce now and the few places that did have them were the same price or more expensive. They are not the best but will do me.

If you want the best you are looking at Creative Gigaworks or Logitech's Z series.
 
thanks for that everyone, now all iv`e got to do is pick some.that will probably take me ages!
i used to be indecisive but now i`m not so sure:)
