Hi all, going to Leeds for a night out with the missus at the weekend. can anyone recommend any good restaraunts? Apparently the Hotel is near the train station so if anyone can suggest any good eateries round there then I would be most greatfull.

If you like chain type things theres Tiger Tiger and Hard Rock up by the St. Johns center, or Nandos near the station. Akbars is damned good from what I hear and I regret never eating there myself :( On Brigate (the main pedestrian high-street theres a little Italian on the right opposite maccy-Ds which is fairly good.

I'd recommend Akbar's too, was very busy on a Saturday night when I went with some mates, yet the service was still decent and they managed to squeeze 7 of us in despite just turning up on the door without booking.

A place called black house. I havent been yet but apparently they do kobe fillet steak at£50 :(.

Anthonys is nice but a bit too fancy, akbars is a nice curry. A tepenyaki place under the train station is good but better with a few more people(the food is cooked on your table).

I dont go for the chain restaurants as imo they tend to trick you into thinking your eating great food when in reality its cack :p I shudder when I think about the last time I went to Prezzo.
However I do like the Hard Rok cafe but I heard that its closed down now? can anyone confirm that its still open please?

GBK, only place i have ever seen people eat a burger with a knife and fork, Akbars is good too.

i actually ate a burger with a knife and fork once because it was so packed full of stuff that it was literally twice is tall as my mouth could open :D:(

Akbars is legenadary if you like indian...

Be very wary of them now , they have been good but gone down hill big time in the last 2- 4 months tried them in york/ bradford and leeds. If you pick the night when they have the good chefs on its the dogs .... go any other night its average at best IMO
