New Alloys

Too much rubber. If the OZ's were bigger, it'd be fandabbydozy.

Gotta say I agree with this. The problem isnt the design of the alloys, its the fact there too small...Maybe 17"? and it would look great.

Like this ish...

There was nothing wrong with the originals, but the ride height made/makes it look a little awkward. Are you sure those alloys don't protrude past the arch? particularly on the front.

Stunner tyres eh?

That's a new one.

*Adds to list.

So that's

Linglong
Fateo
Stunn...

Only joking. Looks good fella :)

My MX5 has Diplomat tyres

To be fair I've given them a lot of abuse and they haven't sent my careening towards a ditch yet. They grip quite well, considering.

But yes, I plan to change them in the very near future :p

Of course, you're all entitled to your opinions but I prefer them and that's what matters ;)

Definitely not, it's cos I'm stood above the height, it's the angle. The tyres are the exact same size as the previous ones, 205/55/16.

They look Ok, nothing wrong with the originals in my mind though.

I am looking at buying a 147 - in black with bose and red leather preffered. in the 2.0 manual flavour.

Whats yours like on servicing and reliability? i dont do many miles but i am planning on a 2500 mile eurotrip in it and dont want to be stuck in Eastern Europe and end up like the film hostel.

Is it also fun to drive? quiet inside the cabin?

Thanks

Dude.

They are too small, have enormous sidewalls and were cheap becuase they have 'Stunner' tyres on.

Completely pointless upgrade, sorry :(

They are the same size as the ones on there, the sidewalls look bigger because of the angle of the picture, they are the same as the originals, and it's not pointless if I'm happy with them :)

Well, I can't feed you a story full of reliability I'm afraid...... in the 2 years I've had it I've had a cambelt failure which took out the inlet manifold and 8 valves and the body computer went too. The cambelt has a 36k interval so mae sure it's done, check the documentation & receipts, I was told mine had been done when it hadn't :( I wouldn;t say they are unrelable per se, just not the type of car you can get away with not lifting the bonnet at all between services, need the oil level checked frequently etc, high maintenance is probably a better term.

It is indeed fun to drive, the 2.0 TwinSpark is what I have & it sounds awesome, fun starts at 3.5K upwards, cabin is well screwed together & the materials don't look cheap.

There's a decent buyer's guide here http://www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/alfa_romeo_147.shtml.

Perhaps your standards are quite low then, hard to see why you'd be happy with paying out to replace your wheels with new ones that are the same size, have similar visual impact but are shod with 4 of the most nasty tyres in existence :)

Perhaps my tastes differ to yours, it has nothing to do with 'standards'. I like the look of the rims better than my old ones & I can quite easily get the Toyo Proxes from my other alloys swapped onto these for about 20 quid as they are the exact same size.
