2 x 4670's

A single powerful card is always better than 2x lesser ones.

Plus it gives you the flexibility to add an extra 4850/4870 later ;)

Just get a single 4850.

Crossfire on P35 boards is not very good, and the 4850 will probably perform around the same levels as 2 x 4670.

Yep, don't go xfire unless you have an x38 or x48 as the p35's were abysmal running two cards.

I had 2x 2900XT's on a P35-DS3P for a while. The performance did increase but i only got around a 10-15% rise in frame rates. The x38 on the other hand gives me around 60% extra performance with my 4850's which is much better (varies from no improvement all the way up to nearly double the performance).

My advice for you (as others have said) is to either get the 4850 now or save the extra for a 4870.

yeah i think the 4870 is the one for me i'm just getting totally fed up of my 7900GT. it's getting noisy and slow so was thinking of a quick fix.

i'll have to be patient and wait till xmas. I'm also inclined to upgrade to an ASUS P45 Delux mobo too.
