I actually put that in there so I could VM the 32-bit edition within the 64-bit edition. Bit daft I know, but that's me all over.

Edit: Also, for the purposes of true insanity, throw in a SATA controller board and a pair of top-spec SATA BluRay/HDDVD re-writers

The case I posted is adequate and looks nice and robust. Besides, it's a huge case and should make life easy for putting this beast together when Hutch wins the euromillions.

Specs and reasoning?

Music production rig, q6600 at 3.6, watercooled with no fans above 500rpm (silent), 8 gig ram, dual monitors, decent speakers and soundcard (that creative stuff is useless for music production), external DAC and amp, XP x64 (opposed to vista) as it works better with Ableton, etc.

The list goes on, the rig you posted above would be better for games but for what I use my rig for quietness is more important than performance...

Seconded. I use an RME Hammerfall DSP 9632 these days, but I could definitely do with an upgrade on these old Creative 5.1 speakers.

Yep the RME card is nice, I've used them in the past. I'm using an Emu 1212m right now which hasn't skipped a beat.

If I were you I'd definately get some decent speakers, Fostex do some real nice studio monitors which would match up real well to yer RME. (Almost) Anythings better than creative speakers.

I've been looking at picking up a set of monitors, some nice big PA speakers and a big bass speaker to annoy the neighbours with. Oh, and of course a high quality amp.

Just as a stab in the dark, have you ever used a Behringer Composer Pro-XL MDX2600 or seen one be used? My local audio store is selling an ex-display one for £50. It has a manual but no box, but that's not a big deal.

And the OC'ing ability of the Xeon chips is kinda crap from what I've heard.
